MAC: Girls Will Be Girls

Girls Will Be Girls came out in 2008 for the MAC Fafi Collection. It's pink with coral pearl. Delicious. I love how over the top girly this nail polish is. I am an extremely pale person and it looks great against my tone but I think it would look better against darker tones.
Here is an intentionally blurred photo so you can see the pearl. <3__<3
Gorgeous!!
So of course, I can't stand not hanging something else on top of the nail color.
Soooooooooo I did this:
I thought it would make it girlier but for some reason I do not like it at all.
Plus, LOOK!!!, shrinkage (teehee).
For the first time ever!

Stamp Color: Orly Wild Wisteria

I am not a fan of this konadicure fail bomb. Opinions?

Sally Hansen: Raspberry Race

This is one of the colors I picked up yesterday during my drugstore haul.
Raspberry Race is a purplely, pink shade. Gosh I am horrible at describing things. While applying it, I wanted to lick it. Raspberry race is a perfect name for this. I used two coats.
I can't stand to have my nails with no design.
I whipped out my H19 plate that I ordered from Chez Delaney. I will do a review on those (amazing!!!) products later.
It was hard to capture the design because I used my flash and the stamp color was silver chrome.
Base Color: Sally Hansen Raspberry Race Insta Dri
Stamp Color: Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pen in Silver Chrome
Image Plate: Chez Delaney H19
Top Coat: Seche Vite
Look at the cute little birdie!!!

Sally Hansen: Blue-Away

It's no secret that Sally Hansen is in my top 3 favorite nail polish brands. They have such an amazing variety of colors. I especially love the Insta Dri line. It's great for a quick mani and the polishes are amazing to stamp with.
I present to thee Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Blue-Away. It's a perfect vibrant shade of baby blue. I've gotten a lot of compliments on this polish. It just pops out at people. I used two coats.

On my way to work, I was feeling a bit down. Sooo, I stopped of at Walgreens and decided to treat myself to some retail therapy.
(Left to Right)
Kiss Nail Art kit
Sally Hansen Raspberry race
Sally Hansen Pink Blink
Maybelline Go-Getter Green
Then when I got to work, I was really bored because it was really quiet and nothing was happening.
I use soft purple from the Kiss Nail Art kit. I really like the way it turned out. Though I am sure I will get better with practice!

China Glaze: 2030

2030 is a gold color that was part of the Khrome Collection. This would be the perfect color for C3PO for a Star Wars inspired mani.  I don't like this color as an all over color. I much prefer it as a stamp color. Because I have extremely ridged nails, I feel like it looks odd and it accentuates the ridges.

This is a more accurate color of 2030.

Butter London: Henley Regatta

Butter London Henley Regatta is blue-green, turquoise micro glitter in a clear base. It takes 3-4 coats to achieve an opaque look.
I am rather disappointed with this polish. I expect something more. At $14 a bottle, I feel it should have been opaque in at least 2 coats.
This is my first bottle of Butter London polish and I cannot give a definite answer on whether I would buy from them again or not.
I got tip wear within three hours of painting my nails and all I was doing was playing Little Big Planet 2.
There is no denying that it's pretty but for $14, I will pass!

Sally Hansen: Chartreuse Chase

Chartreuse Chase is a beautiful lime-y yellow green with mint green shimmer flashing through it. It was a bit difficult to capture the gorgeous shimmer in this shade. I hope this will give you an idea of it.

This color is part of the Sally Hansen Spring line of Insta-Dri.
I can't express enough how much I love this color. I can't wait to try it out as a stamp color.
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri never disappoints, in my opinion.
I bought this color at Ulta and it retails for $4.99.
This is 2 coats

Thursday's Haul

I had around $18 in extra bucks for CVS so I went to see if any new polishes were released. To my surprise, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear colors were only $1.99 each.
From left to right I got:

  • Wet Cement
  • The Real Teal
  • Caribbean Coral
  • Loreal Coral Starfish
  • Seche Vite Fast drying top coat
  • Kiss Nail Artist kit
I ended up paying $3 for all of this haha.

OPI: Do You Lilac It?

(look at how short my nails were! nubbins!)

Buenos Dias!
Do you lilac it? is a great light lilac color. I’ve been inspired by all of the pastel colors that notoriously pop up around Spring. Mainly, I get inspired by Easter colors.
I really really like this color but it wasn’t always so. When I put on one coat of polish, it was super sheer and almost gray.
I was going to write it off but the second coat made me love this polish.
Application was a dream but it left my nails kind of streaky? I am sure if I had taken my time it would not have bubbled or streaked.

Hard Candy: Sky

Hard Candy Sky is a gorgeous baby blue with blue shimmer (look at my index finger in the picture). The first coat of this color was patchy and left some balding towards the cuticle bed. When I applied the second coat, there was no more patchiness and no more balding. The formula is a bit on the thick side but it's nothing to worry about it.  I got this color at Walmart for $5, I think.

I had extra time today before so I decided to spruce up this manicure by adding stamping.
This is my first attempt at layering and I must say, I did a pretty good job.
Pardon the messiness, my lens is a macro lens and picks up any imperfection.
I see this done a lot with nude/neutral colors.
I love this konadicure

Nicole by OPI: Brilliant Idea

Brilliant Idea is by Nicole by OPI and was part of a Target exclusive collection; Something About Spring (still in stores). Brilliant Idea is a lime glitter shade with lime regular and larger round glitters in a clear base. I applied three coats to achieve all over coverage.

I absolutely love when Nicole by OPI does glitters. They do an amazing job and I recommend them to every one I know. The great thing is that they are not difficult glitters to remove. I used acetone and one cotton ball for each hand. I has no problems what so ever.

OPI: William Tell Me About OPI

William Tell Me About OPI came out with the Swiss Collection in August 2010. It is a gorgeous, deep, vampy eggplant color. This color is perfect for the fall. It’s one of my favorite colors from this collection.
The formula was perfect. It wasn’t thick, it was runny. It’s opaque in two coats with no brush strokes.
The color is not a hard to find one. So check out your local Ultas or even CVS, which is where I got this color!

Illamasqua: Jo'Mina

Unf. This has to be one of my favorite (top 10) polishes of all time (I feel like I say that about every polish I own!). The photo doesn’t do it justice.
I have never gotten so many compliments on a polish than I do while wearing Illamasqua- J’omina.
No brush strokes and I only needed to coats to achieve the opacity.

Pure Ice: Twinkle

(my fingers look wonky haha)

Unf. I love this color!!! This color reminds me of summer and beaches and tans. All of which I am longing for at the moment.
I don’t understand at all why this polish is called Twinkle. It’s a gorgeous orange/coral color with a golden shimmer to it. GORGEOUS!!
The formula is kind of eh. Runs a bit on the thick side. I had to do three coats to achieve opacity and to cover some brush strokes.
I got this color from Walmart. It’s not a hard color to find at all. It’s very affordable as well!

Essie: Topless and Barefoot

Topless and Barefoot is a beige, peach creme color. I am really loving nudes at the moment so this is perfect.
I was rather hesitant, thinking that it would look horrid against my complexion but  it  looks great.
This color would look amazing on all skin tones. The formula is not runny nor is it thick. The application was great; no brush strokes. But I must admit, I hate Essie polish brushes. They are super tiny!!!
Anyways, this retails for around $8.

Konadicure: Leafy Blues

I love love love konadicures; especially since I am no good at traditional nail art.
I am surprised at how much I loved this mani. It has to be my favorite to date.
Base Coat: Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet
Stamp Color: Sally Hansen Brisk Blue

Which Way Did He Go?

What I used:
Fingers: OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui
Ring Finger: Nicole by OPI I’m a Belieber
Nail Image Plate: Bundle Monster BM20
Stamp Color: Sally Hansen Color Pen in Silver Chrome

So I had to cut off all my nails. Something odd was happening with them. They were splitting on the sides. I think me filing the sides a bit caused them to do that. Womp womp. I hope they grow back fast!

China Glaze- Gamer Glam

I am a hardcore holo lover. When I heard China Glaze was releasing another holographic collection named Tronica. I squealed! I have a few polishes from their Kaleidoscope line and my OMG collection is almost complete. Any who, onto the photos.

In this collection, the holo effect is more scattered as opposed to linear. The holo is also more subtle in this collection than previous collections. This color is called Gamer Glam. It is a purple scattered holo.
I looove this color but I do wish the holoness was not so subtle. I like holo that is BAM! WHAM! in your face!
I purchased Gamer Glam from Sally Beauty but it was a while ago. They are sold out at my local store and I have yet to find the Tronica collection anywhere else.
