Androgynie!!!!

Welcome to Day 13!!!! I can't really believe that it's day 13 already. Wow! I am still in Canada so no nail art until I get back home! I left my tools at my boyfriend's house. Womp womp!! I'm sorry for not responding to comments or commenting on blogs. I don't have internet up here and I cannot access the internet on my phone or we will be charged a lot of money for it!

So today I have a special polish for you with a super weird name!

Orly Androgynie!!!!!
*CHEER*
Androgynie is a black jelly with large multi-coloured hexagons, finer prismatic glitter and really fine gold flecks.
This is an amazing color!!! Even my boyfriend commented on this polish!
He said he liked it a lot and it reminded him of space.
So when I get the chance, I will be drawing planets on it!

Here is a closer look at the bottle.
Look at the yumminess of the hexagons in the bottle.
The hexagons which hardly show up in the nail.
It's rather disappointing!!
See that!? I want that on my nail!
Instead, it decides to hang out on the side of the bottle!
I can't explain how much I love this polish.
Words escape me.
Just.. MORE HEXAGONS ON MY NAILS!!

Clean cup, clean cup. Move down.

Today is day 3 of the 30 days of untrieds! As promised, I have an earlier post today. But still late. I have no idea how time has been managing to slip me by!!

The polish I chose today is OPI Mad As A Hatter. I got this recently from Taylor.
I don't know why I didn't get it when it first came out!
Mad As A Hatter has green, blue, purple, pink, silver, orange and every other color of micro-glitter packed into a clear base.
I used 2 coats though I should have applied another coat.
I see some balding in these photos.
I purposefully blurred this so you can see how it looks when it glitters!
You can find Mad As A Hatter on eBay for ridiculous prices!
Onto the nail art!

Mad Hatter hats and tea cups spilling tea!
I got the idea for the Mad Hatter hats from IHaveACupcake from youtube.
How could I wear OPI Mad As A Hatter and not do Alice in Wonderland nail art?
It would be a shame!
Sometimes, I feel my nails are too small to do what I want to do.
The splash marks on the tea cups didn't come out as planned.
But I still love this mani!!

A Haunting We Will Go-Go

It's dreary and rainy out today. I spent most of the day watching horror movies (surprise surprise) and catching up with old friends.

Braaaaaaaaaains Or Beauty?

It's getting harder and harder to choose what nail art to do as October breezes by. I have pages upon pages of ideas. October is such a fun month.

I live in Boston and we have been getting warm weather this October. Definitely something out of the ordinary for us. I'm not complaining though. But you can still smell Fall in the air.

For the past 7 years, each October I watch at least two horror movies a day. I have no idea how it got to be. But I am completely obsessed with horror/thriller/slasher films!! If you could see me now, I have a huge smile on my face.

Enough of that. Sheesh! Hahah

Base Color: OPI Alpine Snow
Black acrylic Paint
Zombie Face: OPI Gargantuan Green Grape
Rotting flesh: Essie Going Incognito
Brains: Orly Cotton Candy
Background: Piggy Polish I'll Get You My Pretty
Look at how cute they are! I want to squeeze them!!!

Monster Lab

I first staredt off with the idea of doing Purple People Eaters.. Then that changed to cyclops. Then it evolved into what you see here.
I seriously cannot help but giggle when I look at this mani.
It cracks me up. Their personalities show through (does that make me sound odd?)
I really cannot remember what I used. All I know is that it's a lot.
If you really want to know what I used, please ask. I don't mind!
My favorite is the guy on my pointer finger. He looks like a pineapple!
Hahah
I have a lot of great ideas coming up for the rest of October.

Until tomorrow my pretties!!!

Like I said, today was an amazing Nail day. I basically was showing my mom the places that I hit up when I go looking for polishes since no two places ever sell the same stuff. So we went to my favorite nail supply store and to Ulta.  I walked out with some goodies.

From the beauty supply store:

Ulta Haul

I've been disappointed in the stores near me and their collections. It seems like no one has been carrying the most recent collection. I went to Ulta yesterday because I was suffering from cabin fever. I could spend hours upon hours in that stores and enjoy every moment. My sister and I stop there around every other week.
I walked away with some goodies.
(Left to Right)
OPI- Road House Blues
Pop- Turquoise
Piggy Polish- I'll Get You My Pretty
China Glaze- Near Dark
Piggy Polish- Nocture-Nail
Pop: Ultraviolet
Orly Dotting Duo Tool (LOVE LOVE LOVE)

The Pop nail polishes were on sale $5 from their original price of $10.
I wanted to get more China Glaze Ghoulish Glow but they ran out.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

Comparison: Fowl Play vs. Merry MIdnight

OPI Merry Midnight came out with the Holiday Wishes collection in 2009. Merry Midnight is a dark grape purple with red flake glitter, and blue and purple micro-glitter

Orly Fowl Play came out with the Fall Birds of Feather 2011 Collection. Fowl Play is rumored to be a dupe for Merry Midnight.

A close of up of Orly Fowl Play. Gorgeous! This should be the staple polish of Fall!

They look very very similar. Owning Fowl Plight might kill the lemming of owning Merry Midnight for a few people.
Fowl Play is a bit more opaque than Merry Midnight. Both have a darkened purple/plummy base that is sheer and buildable, with lots of multi-colored flakes. Though Fowl Play has a darker base.

Both are worth having. They are so gorgeous! <3

Orly: Lemonade

Orly Lemonade came out in Spring 2010. The collection was called Sweet and featured pastel colors.
Each nail polish in this collection came with a mini lip gloss matching the color and flavor.
Lemonade is a cool yellow color.
It was opaque in two coats.
I've heard this polish was difficult for some people.
It applied fine for me. It wasn't the best formula but I had no problems.
So this photo right here ^^,
will be the worst photo I ever post on my blog.
I layered Hard Candy Sugar Daddy on top of Orly Lemonade.
Sugar Daddy is a sheer white polish with gold shimmer.
It's a gorgeous color.
I would not suggest wearing it by itself since it is so sheer.

So readers, what do you think of this color??

Orly: Ancient Jade

Ancient Jade is not a unique color to be honest. But I still need to have it in my collection.
This color came out with Orly’s Spring 2011 Precious Collection.
It's a gorgeous green creme color.
The formula is so heavenly! This is one coat. No streaking. No VNL.
Perfection!!
Just a quick konadicure to spice it up (far from creative.)
Base color: Orly Ancient Jade
Image Plate: Konad M21
Stamp Color: Konad White

Any tips on how to be more creative with manicures?

MAC: Girls Will Be Girls

Girls Will Be Girls came out in 2008 for the MAC Fafi Collection. It's pink with coral pearl. Delicious. I love how over the top girly this nail polish is. I am an extremely pale person and it looks great against my tone but I think it would look better against darker tones.
Here is an intentionally blurred photo so you can see the pearl. <3__<3
Gorgeous!!
So of course, I can't stand not hanging something else on top of the nail color.
Soooooooooo I did this:
I thought it would make it girlier but for some reason I do not like it at all.
Plus, LOOK!!!, shrinkage (teehee).
For the first time ever!
Base Color: MAC Girls Will Be Girls
Image Plate: Konad M71
Stamp Color: Orly Wild Wisteria

I am not a fan of this konadicure fail bomb. Opinions?
