Ulta Haul

I've been disappointed in the stores near me and their collections. It seems like no one has been carrying the most recent collection. I went to Ulta yesterday because I was suffering from cabin fever. I could spend hours upon hours in that stores and enjoy every moment. My sister and I stop there around every other week.
I walked away with some goodies.
(Left to Right)
OPI- Road House Blues
Pop- Turquoise
Piggy Polish- I'll Get You My Pretty
China Glaze- Near Dark
Piggy Polish- Nocture-Nail
Pop: Ultraviolet
Orly Dotting Duo Tool (LOVE LOVE LOVE)

The Pop nail polishes were on sale $5 from their original price of $10.
I wanted to get more China Glaze Ghoulish Glow but they ran out.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe weekend!

Haul and Nail Mail

Since I am unemployed, I don't get nail mail as often as I did when I had a job (I miss those day). Yesterday, I decided to treat myself.
From left to right:
Bonita- Aqua Marina
Bonita- Yacht Club
nail inc- Haymarket
nails inc- Belgrave Place

I found Bonita nail polish at Francesca's, which is a little boutique here. I am not sure if it's only local.
The polishes were 2 for $1 or $2.. I can't recall. Sorry!!
My sister got me these bowls from Target! Aren't they the cutest!!

Today, some nail mail came in for me. I ordered 3 Halloween image plates from  Chez Delaney.
So cute!!
I purchased T29, D04, and D03!
I can't wait to play with them!!

Day 29: Supernatural

Hi hi!!!! I spent ALL day trying to figure out what to do. I tried doing Cthulhu nails.. But I do not have good brushes soooo they came out horribly! But they did look like Zoidburg! hahaha Then! I was going to do some occult symbols but decided against it! I sat at my desk staring at the wall and I looked down at my lap top and was inspired by a sticker I have on it!
Ghosts coming from the grave.
How cute?!!? I love it! The ghosts glow in the dark but I couldn't photograph it properly
Base Color: Sally Hansen- Midnight in NY
Image plate: BM223
Stamp Color: Konad White
Grave Color: Sally Hansen- Presto Pewter
RIP: Black Acrylic Paint
I hope everyone had a great day today!!
Until tomorrow, which is the last day of the challenge.

Day 27: Inspired by Artwork

I couldn't pick just one piece of artwork. One of my favorite artists is Joan Miro who is a surrealist. I have a print of Harlequin's Carnival hanging in my room.

He was a huge inspiration of mine in high school. All of my art mimicked his.
It is so chaotic and colorful. I would spend hours upon hours just studying his work.
Base color: Essie- Ballet Slipers
Black, Red, White, Yellow Acrylic paint

So readers, I ask you, who is your favorite artist!?

Day 25: Inspired by fashion

So fashion.. kind of a broad theme. So I  chose something that everyone knows. This was hard to choose to be quite honest. I chose to do the yellow outfit Lady Gaga wore in Paparazzi. I didn't have the appropriate yellow.
I went with China Glaze- Trendsetter.
I used a dotting tool Wet n Wild Black Creme.
It was a quick and simple manicure, which was perfect for my day today.
I didn't know how to position the Mickey Mouses (I know they are not Mickey Mouses on her outfit).
I hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend.
My weekend was good, sad, hectic, and fun. Everything you can think of.
Until tomorrow my pretties!

Day 24: Inspired by a book

O___O

That is all I can say about this fail mani.  So day 24 is to do a manicure inspired by a book. So.. the book I chose was: DUN DUN DUN
!!!! This was one of my favorite books when I was younger.
The Goosebumps is still to this day, one of my favorite series..
I am 27! Hahaha

Anyways, I spend the 4 days of the week with my boyfriend and  I don't have many polishes
available to me.  So I didn't have the appropriate colors.
I attempted to do a mummy wrap and failed miserably .
The thumb and pointer finger came out horribly, I don't know what the hell happened!
I used Wet n Wild Black Creme and Butter London Wallis.
NO ME GUSTA
*shakes head in shame*
So sorry to post this but at the same time, I don't see why we can't share
Let's see if tomorrow's manicure is any better!
Until later my pretties.

Day 23: Inspired by a movie

Ok so I meant to post this yesterday but I suddenly got really busy.  I had a family emergency :(, then I went to dinner with friends, then my boyfriend and I had to dog sit. So day 23 of the 30 day nail polish is inspired by a movie. I chose Bram Stoker's Dracula, I love Gary Oldman.
So let me explain what I did.
On the index finger, I chose to do the lips of the girls in bed with Jonathan Harker.
The middle finger is the blood with Lucy get bitten or just the blood in the movie.
The ring finger is sponged to look like a lot of bats in the night (does that make sense?)
and there is always only one that is in focus.
The thumb and pinky resemble the cobwebs around the castle.
What I used:
Wet n Wild: Black Creme
China Glaze: Phat Santa & Naughty and Nice
Aldo: Mardi Gras
Eyeko: Vampira Polish
Sally Hansen: Petal Pusher
Chez Delaney: A37
Again, sorry for the late post!
Until later my pretties!

Day 22: Inspired by a song

I sat at my desk, staring at the wall trying to figure out which song to chose for this manicure. The song I chose is:

                              The Misfits- The Crawling Eye

Base color:
Wet n Wild- Black Creme
Eyeball:
Black, White, Green, Red Acrylic
I really need to invest in some brushes instead of using toothpicks.
At first, it was hard getting the muscles down (as you very obviously can see).
But then I got the hang of it!
So yeah, I am unsure of this manicure. It was great in my head.. then this fail happened.
Oh well!!
Til later my pretties!!

Day 21: Inspired by a color

Ok ok ok. I am sorry for posting so late. Today was one of those days. You know, I did my nails, walked around the city, got completely side tracked. Anywho this is the third and last section of the 30 Day Nail Polish Challenge.

The color that inspired me today was It's Alive by China Glaze. Obviously Frankenstein came to mind because I am a huge huge huge horror fanatic. It was hard to photography this manicure but I tried my hardest.
Base color: China Glaze It's Alive (2)
Image Plate: Chez Delaney A37
Stamp color: Konad black
It's kind of hard to see the stitching.
I love this manicure. Next time I do it, I will try placing the stitches in different places.
A better shot of it! Mickey looks evil!
Til tomorrow my pretties!

Day 20: Water Marbled

Today's been rainy, very blue day. I love living in New England and I love fall.
I chose some blues for this water marbled manicure but it turned out differently than I expect!
It seems, in my house, that whenever I do my nails, I am asked to do something by someone that causing my nails to smudge.. Does this happen to anyone else!? Eeeee!
Onward to the pictures!
(Right Hand)
Look at the smudge on my thumb! *grumble grumble*
I used a lot of colors for both hands
Base: Sally Hansen- Whirlwind White
OPI- Mermaid's Tears
OPI- Catch Me In Your Net
OPI- DS Magic
OPI- Yoga-ta Get This Blue
OPI- Ski Teal We Drop
OPI- Swimsuit...Nailed It
China Glaze- Secret Peri-Wink-Le
Sally Hansen- Barracuda
If I were to do this over, I don't think I would have used Swimsuit...Nailed it
or Catch Me In Your Net.

Has anyone done water marbling with glitter-ish nails successfully??
Til tomorrow my pretties!

Day 19: Galaxy Nails

What I love about this challenge is that it forces me to try new things. I was too intimidated before to try galaxy nails. I am happy I did. Though my nails didn't come out perfectly, I am super happy with them.
What I used:
Wet n Wild- Black Creme
Sally Hansen- Whirlwind White
Revlon- Electric
OPI- Elephantastic Pink
Sally Hansen- Grape Escape
Sally Hansen- Teal-y Fast
Sally Hansen- Night Flight
nails inc.- Electric Lane
Illamasqua- Jo'Mina
I am very pleased with my nails. I am going top mess around with different techniques and colors and see what I come up with.
Thanks for looking!!!
Until then my pretties!

Day 18: Half Moons

Hi all! I hope everyone is doing well! I have an early post for everyone since I am off to a Renaissance faire in a few. This was done quickly, poorly and freehand. Urgh you can tell! Haha
Wet n Wild: Black Creme
nails inc: Chelsea Embankment
No flash!
That middle finder. Womp Womp. It's so sad looking!
I didn't use reinforcements. I might retry this tonight using reinforcements.
Who knows!
Flash! I made that little duckie too!
I am on the fence about this. I wish I had more brushes available to me.
I spend the weekends at my boyfriend's apartment and my nail supply there is very limited.
Ok I am off to see King Richard and his court!
I hope all of you have a great day!!
Until then my pretties.

Day 17: Glitter

My sinus cold has turned into a chest cold and I am seriously lacking energy. I wish I could have done something more than just a swatch.
Day 17 of the 30 day nail polish challenge is glitter.
nails inc: Chelsea Embankment
This glitter is gorgeous. Opaque in 2 coats but you could totally get away with 1 thick coat.
It's absolutely gorgeous and I cannot stop staring at it in the light.
I feel like it's Las Vegas on my nails!
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
Til later my pretties!

Day 14: Flowers

I managed to get myself out of bed to do Day 14 of the 30 day nail challenge. I wanted to do some freehand nail art, but to be quite honest, I was feeling like hell. Despite me not feeling up to doing my nails, I must say that I am really happy the way my nails turned out. I really really hate getting sick because when I do, it takes forever for it to go away. I'm trying to stay positive. I've been using my neti pot like crazy, which relives a lot of the sinus pressure.

Base Color-
 Essie: Ballet Slippers
Ring finger-
Image Plate: Konad m65
Stamp Color: Sally Hansen Teal-y Fast
Thumb, Pointer, Middle, Pink Fingers-
Image Plate: Konad M82
Stamp Color: Sally Hansen Emerald Express

I feel so delicate with my nails like this!

Hopefully I feel better tomorrow!
Until next time my pretties!

Day 13: Animal Print

I woke up feeling very very sick. I want to do a more colorful mani but wasn't feeling up to it at all. This is probably the worst mani I'll ever put up. Some parts smudged. Eh. You will see!
I used:
Nails Inc: Bloomsbury Square
Stamp Color: Konad Black
Image Plate: Konad M57

Im posting this from the iPhone blogger app. Let's see how it works!
Sorry such a short horrible post!

KISS nail stripers used top to bottom:

Soft Blue
Soft Purple
Beach Green
Bikini Pink
Neon Orange
Beach Yellow
Sorry for the late post... I have been feeling rather down.
But anyways. Sorry for the crap pictures
